Historical catalysts: FDA decisions (approvals, CRLs, RTFs), advisory committee outcomes, NDA/BLA submissions. Linked to company profiles by ticker and name.
Clinical trials: Phase 1/2/3 trial registrations from ClinicalTrials.gov, linked to companies by name matching. Includes condition, intervention, sponsor, and status.
Early signals: Pre-clinical and early clinical signals from bioRxiv preprints and Nature/Cell journal RSS feeds.

Sourced from BioPharmCatalyst company registry and supplemented by import pipelines
Company identity is normalised using a slug-based deduplication system (normSlug) that strips common suffixes (Inc., Ltd., plc) to merge duplicates
Company status tracked: public (has ticker), private, acquired, closed
Geographic coverage: US, EU, UK, MEA, India, Asia-Pacific, global

Signal Types

All data points are classified into typed signals:

catalyst: FDA decision, PDUFA date, advisory committee
trial: Clinical trial phase update, enrolment, completion
funding: Investment round, IPO, grant award
partnership: Licensing deal, co-development agreement, acquisition
news: Industry news article matching a tracked company or keyword
early_signal: Pre-clinical research signal from journals/preprints

Data Freshness

All data has a freshness timestamp. The platform surfaces the most recently updated companies and signals first. The Daily Brief covers only the previous 24–48 hours of signals to ensure relevance.

Data Quality

Company deduplication via normalised slug matching
News date normalisation — only ISO-format dates are used for sorting; RFC 2822 format dates from some RSS feeds are excluded from ranked results
Signal scoring weights recency, company match confidence, and signal type importance
RAG ingestion pipeline validates and embeds only verified, dated documents
